Andrew B. Peitzman, MD, is a Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair
for Clinical Services, Department of Surgery Chief, Division of
General Surgery. Chief, Section of Trauma/Surgical Critical Care.
Dr. Peitzman's particular areas of clinical interests include
complicated abdominal surgery, critical care medicine, and hernia
repair. Dr. Peitzman's recent honors include Marquis Who's Who in
the World and the Best Doctors in America. Dr. Peitzman has
participated in many successful clinical research endeavors.

Timothy R. Billiar, M.D., is George V. Foster professor of surgery
and chairman of the department of surgery at the University of
Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Billiar is a trauma and general
surgeon at UPMC Presbyterian and has gained an international
reputation for his contributions to the understanding of the role of
nitric oxide in gene therapy, trauma, liver disease and other
potential clinical applications.

Dr. Juan B. Ochoa, MD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery and
Critical Care Medicine and director of Trauma and Surgical Critical
Care, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Ochoa's
areas of clinical research include manipulation of immune
responses through nutritional intervention, Arginine metabolism
and atherogenesis, immature myeloid cells and T cell suppression
in trauma, patient safety and quality control in critically ill surgical
and trauma patients.

Dr. Mazen S. Zenati, MD, MPH, Ph.D is an Assistant Professor of
Clinical Research of Surgery, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology
and the Director of the Clinical Office of Surgery and Trauma
(CROST). Dr. Zenati's areas of clinical research include shock,
hypothermia, splenic injury, trauma in the morbidly obese, injury
prevention, trauma system, and other related outcome research in
Trauma.

Stacy Stull, MS is the research coordinator for CROST. She
has a Master’s degree in science education and works to
facilitate the varied aspects of the research studies ongoing
at the department of surgery. She has worked in diverse
research settings at UPMC from the neuro-endocrine
laboratory to performing clinical interviewing in behavioral
health care and many administrative tasks.

Kathryn Bukauskas, RN is a clinical research nurse in the
department of surgery, UPMC. She is the research nurse for a
large multi-center clinical study: Inflammation and the Host
Response to Injury (Trauma); ClinicalTrials.gov, identifier #

research staff and coordinating internal communication.

Robert A. Adams, B.S., M.P.M. is a lead trauma registrar and
has been with UPMC Trauma Registry since it's inception in
1986. He has very rich knowledge in databases, data
management, trauma scoring systems, and query & report
writing. Mr. Adams is also our designated Honest Broker to
facilitate the release of information involving research data from
our Trauma Registry in compliance with HIPPA regulations.

Patricio M. Polanco, MD is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the
Department of Surgery, University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Polanco participated as co-investigator and clinical
